Sugar and Spice: Look Who Is ONE!

Mackenzie celebrated her first birthday on Sunday. We were in Branson for a quick weekend and were lucky enough to get some great pictures. We made it home in time Sunday night to have dinner and cake and ice cream at home. The best surprise was Papa HC made it to town for her birthday, he is my grandfather!Her birthday party is this coming weekend, it is going to be small and just a few friends with kids. It is funny how differently you view kids birthday parties after experiencing 5 years of them! I adopted the view point that if you don't have kids you should not be tortured by the party (unless you are family,lol).
A little about Mackenzie.... She seems to go more and more by Kenzie, so we will see. She weighed in at 8 lbs 2oz, this puts her in the 9% for weight! She is in the 25% for height (for some reason that number escapes me and I will have to add later). She is cruising furniture, but no true walking yet. She can say mama, dada and dog. She also knows more, all done and please in sign language. She did actually take her first step on July 8 while we are the pediatrician for Samantha. She is a very determined baby with a beautiful smile. I think what makes me smile the most is the love she already shows, she will just stop and rest her head on your lap or on one of the dogs, she knows who belongs in her heart!
